Dear Sahoura,

It’s really only been three years since you wrote this letter but we both know that a lot can happen in three years. Hopefully you have driven to Malibu for the day to celebrate your December birthday on the beach, for once. I’m assuming you have decided to leap over to the West Coast.

So yea, you’re 30! Holy smokes, we got here fast didn’t we? It feels like just yesterday we were graduating high school and now we’re over a quarter of a century old. It’s fine because we look great for our age. I know it. Remember that time the traffic lady stopped you outside that school and thought you were skipping class? Remember what her face looked like when you told her we were 27 and not 15? Is that still happening to us? Ok, good. I thought so.

I’m so proud of the woman you have become and I hope you are too. I hope we are just one step closer to our first Oscar. Hell, I’ll settle for a Golden Globe! When we started this journey four years ago, we knew it wasn’t going to be easy. Lots of highs and lots of lows, not to mention a ton of ‘NO’s.’ It’s okay though, because we have a good head on our shoulders and we know that we are talented, good people who deserve the best. I hope that by now we have landed a few small television roles and have settled our cute butts in LA with an agent. Fingers crossed, but if not… Don’t sweat it! I’m sure we’re on our way.

So? Are you still single? I really do wonder about this because we’ve already been single for almost three years. Yea, yea, I know. We’re married to my career right now but that doesn’t mean we can’t find a cute wholesome boy along the way! You’re right though. We do have a tendency to get lost in whomever we’re dating. We set our boundaries in our last break-up remember? No matter what happens, we will never forget ourselves and I hope you’re sticking to this motto. You better be!

Also, I hope you’re putting your phone down more. We always wanted to do that.

Anyway, Happy Birthday to us! Thirty is the new 20 BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. You know as well as I do that you have your whole life ahead of you. Don’t freak out if you’re not exactly where we wanted to be. But, my guess is that we’ve been freaking out enough for the past three years that we actually are right where we expected.

I love you girl, may 30 be the best year yet.

Love You Long Time,
